Weekly Update #1

Weekly Update #1

Hi Guys! This is the start of a new series to — completely informal and something I’ve been toying with for a while, to share what we get up to weekly, either while travelling or at home. It’s also going to be a mixture of things like events, favourites brands, home decor, shoes, clothes — a place to share everything that we (I) love and hopefully you guys will share some of your loves too!

So much more blogging to come!

As some of you may know, my mom has had a mild stroke and so I’ve been in Durban, South Africa, for two weeks helping her out around the house and getting to her appointments. Since I was so busy, I wasn’t able to blog much but I’m hoping to get back on track. This next week will bring with it some pretty big changes including a new website look, and several new blog posts geared towards our local events.

Back to Canada!

I flew back to Canada beginning of this week to pretty cold temps. BUT, I’m pretty happy to be right in the middle of Sweater Weather — and I’m making the most of it! Also, Craig met me at the airport with a GF Famoso’s Pizza, in case I was hungry, and a brand new sweater dress from Aritzia, in case I was cold. Best husband ever? I think so! I’ll keep him!

Fall… or Winter?

I love Fall, but it seems like Winter is right around the corner. While we were in the city this weekend, it snowed! Although it was only a sprinkle, it was enough to get me worried about packing Winter jackets for all future day activities.

Dinner at Baijiu & a Stay at the Westin:

We had a Staycation at the Westin Downtown in Edmonton! It’s one of my favourite hotels to stay at in Downtown Edmonton with reasonable prices plus easy access to amazing restaurants. With accommodation nearby, we walked to dinner at one of our favourites, Baijiu (‘Bye Joe’), and I got to snap these moody pictures of the vibey Asian-inspired bar. You MUST try their brussels sprouts — they are to die for!

Brunching!

We brunched at Cafe Linnea once again. It’s ranked #1 on our Guide to Brunching in Edmonton for a reason, but I am especially loving the Fall-inspired menu! I ordered their new Galette with butternut squash, apple, bacon and brie. It is the breakfast that all other breakfasts want to beat — but can’t. The salmon gravlax on a pancake was also a winner!

Sweater Weather & Sales:

With Sweater Weather on the brain, I shopped up a storm online seeing as Abercrombie & Fitch had a 40% sale on this weekend! Quick, if you act fast you can still catch the sale! Here’s a sneak peak of some of the things I bought:

Until next week,

~ L
